Top 5 great place for photography in Sabah

Sabah Definitely has everything from mountain top to below water. A place for photographers to express their talent in photography. I my self has travel all around Sabah for photography and here I put together top 5 that I can think of best place for photography in Sabah.

1. Kinabalu Park

Mount Kinabalu

Kinabalu Park is about 2 hours drive from Kota Kinabalu City. There are plenty of accommodation can be found around the area if decided to stay longer. It is usual for photographers to stay at the park area for them to capture morning sunrise at Mount Kinabalu.


2. Sukau Kinabatangan

Borneo Pigmy Elephant

Sukau Kinabatangan is about 2 and a half hours drive from Sandakan city. There are plenty of lodges a long the Kinabatangan river for visitors to stay. The morning and afternoon river cruise is the best time to see wildlife a long the river.


3. Danum Valley

Danum BRL Canopy

Danum Valley is located at the heart of Sabah. It can be access from Lahad Datu town. 3 hours of driving on a dirt road to the valley. This is a place for wildlife photographers. Mostly wildlife can be spotted along the nature trail and also on canopy walkway.


4. Tun Sakaran Marine Park


The Tun Sakaran Marine Park can only be access by boat from Semporna. Visit to the water village where the Bajau people lives. The have no problem with cameras. Kids usually love to pose infront of the camera. For the people who live on a boat, they usually not used to being infront of camera, it is better to ask before pressing the button.


5. Kota Belud Sunday Market

Kota Belud Sunday Market

The sunday market is about 1 hours away from Kota Kinabalu city. It is a place for many different tribes gather and trade.
