CANOPY WALKWAY PORING HOTSPRING

This canopy walkway is situated at Poring, a sub-station of Kinabalu park. First open in 1990 for tourist to experience the view from the tree top. There are 3 circuits of canopy walkways with a total length of 373.6 meters and a height of up to 41 meters depending on the slope of the land below. The bridges was built on a Seraya(Shorea sp) tree and Menggaris tree(Kompassia excelsa).

The canopy walkway is the best ways to observe tropical animals. Animals in the canopy appear less fearful to human compared to when observed on the ground. It is simply due to most tropical animal spend most of their time on tree canopy.

Only 6 people allowed at a time going on the bridge. The Poring sub-station is about 3 hours drive from Kota Kinabalu city.
